Umarex USA, Inc
. – JB, the Director of Marketing, is
always a pleasure to talk with and spent quite a bit of time
with Tim and me. Due to the growing demand for their
products Umarex USA has a nice problem: they must
expand their operations and are having to hire a bunch more
American workers! It is no wonder with all of the new items
they bring to the show each year. In the Legends lineup, the
new C96 copy of the famous Broomhandle Mauser is a 19-shot
CO2 semi-auto BB pistol retailing at $101.00. The Makarov
Ultra is a blowback version of the model released last year
utilizing a 16 round drop-free magazine. This new version
has realistic features such as the slide locking back with the
last round fired. Retail is $91.00. Fans of the Colt Python
.357 will take notice of the replica
CO2 BB revolver coming out. It
sports an adjustable rear sight and
a 5.5 inch brass barrel, retailing for
$114.00 and available by the time
you read this. Also new; a Colt
Commander .45 all metal replica BB
repeater with blowback action. It has a 19 round drop-free
magazine and sports a full length brass barrel like the Python;
something not seen much in BB guns. Retail will be $114.00.
Walther’s PPS firearm was well received last year, and being
part of the Umarex family, it was natural that BB and airsoft
copies would soon follow.
Both copies are powered by CO2 and are all metal
construction, featuring blowback action and drop-free
magazines. MSRP on the BB repeater is $76.00 and $82.00
for the airsoft model. Umarex USA also carries an entire
lineup of professional grade airsofts through their Elite
Force division. Elite Force is licensed to replicate versions
of HK, Walther and Beretta guns. Check out the rest of their
new offerings for 2014 and the full line of products at: www.
umarexusa.com and www.eliteforceguns.com. As with every
other company on the planet, Umarex USA has presence on
all of the social media sites. However, they took it one step
further and produces the American Airgunner television
show on the Pursuit Channel. Check out episodes at: www.

As for the new kids on the block, some exciting things
were showcased this year. In the airgun realm there are some
new players, namely KalibrGun, a manufacturer of high-end
PCPs out of Prague, CZ. These incredibly nice air rifles are of
a bullpup configuration, most coming with beautiful walnut
stocks with a definite European flair. KalibrGun exhibited
at SHOT for the first time this year and I believe everyone
stopping by their booth was duly impressed. KalibrGun’s line
of PCPs include .177 all the way up to .35 caliber and retail
prices start at around $1500.00 for synthetic stocked models.
